Ford Produces An Eco Conscious Car: The Ford C-MAX Hybrid

The world is in a global oil crisis with resources slowly depleting and large cities inundated with thick and dark pollution which can cause serious health issues. Consumers are demanding more efficient vehicles and Ford is stepping up by its new C-MAX hybrid. This auto is set to debut in late 2012 or early 2012 and will give the big players some serious competition. Gas mileage is expected to exceed that of the Fusion's hybrid which is forty seven miles per gallon. That means that the C-MAX may be approaching the 50 mpg mark and giving the Prius, which is currently the top-selling hybrid in America, some serious competition.
The C-MAX will be built in America and as a result have a positive effect on U.S jobs and the economy. It will be assembled specifically in Wayne, Michigan. Ford is definitely being eco-conscious since the Michigan factory uses systems that are fueled with energy from the sun and it will use a blend of traditional energy and renewable energy. Most of the major auto makers utilize different companies to produce the batteries for their hybrids but Ford will make its own. The majority of hybrids for sale utilize Nimh batteries but the C-MAX will use lithium-ion batteries which are much lighter and smaller. The Prius is a vehicle that uses the Nimh style battery.

The C-MAX's motor engine will be a V4 Atkinson-cycle. The C-MAX's powertrain will be similar to that of the 2011 Ford Fusion hybrid but an improved version with more power and versatility. Its powertrain enables the car to drive in electric mode up to certain speeds and have the traditional engine take over once the vehicle reaches a fast speed. Consumers will be able to select from two versions; the hybrid and plug-in hybrid and both are expected to seat four people. The plug-in version can be plugged in a regular one hundred and twenty volt outlet for a quick recharge. The battery will be automatically be charged every time the auto brakes.
My Ford Mobile will also be available. This is an application that can be downloaded to your smart phone including the Blackberry and Andoid phones. It will allow the driver to locate the vehicle by GPS if necessary, view the car's charging status and even control the cabin's temperature. One really cool feature is that it can even charge the car at the exact time when electricity rates are the lowest in order to minimize charging expenses.
You can view the revolutionary C-MAX hybrid some time in late 2012 or early 2013. These are all very exciting times for the hybrid segment as auto manufacturers are in a competitive mode to outdo each other in terms of mileage. As of this very moment, the Prius is the best-selling and most popular hybrid in America. Let's see if the C-MAX can infuse the market with some new life and dominate the market in 2013 and beyond!
